Itinerary

DAY 1

Arrival at Ljubljana airport.

Activities for the day1 depends on time of your departure.

If you are already in Ljubljana, we will pick you up in your hotel and start the day in morning hours.

Rateče-Planica

Planica is most known for ski-jumping competition. It has the biggest jumping hill in the world. Every year Planica hosts ski jumping finals which tell us how important is for FIS.

In the summer time, Planica gives us many great possibilities how to spend free time. We will try some of them.

  • the most spectacular zip line in the world. Experience the sensations of Slovenian eagles and world jumping elite with the help of steepest zip line in the world and fly over the Planica giant hill, the largest ski flying hill in the world. Your spectacular flight will be as much as 566 m long, and you will reach the speed of up to 85 km/h in just a few seconds.
  • cross-country skiing in summer time. You can go cross-country skiing in the snow hall on 800 m long course which extends over three floors.
  • hiking to one of many hills around.

Free evening and overnight in Planica

DAY 2
  • Ever wondered how flying feels like? Wind tunnel at Planica Nordic Centre was constructed with the intention of fulfilling human natural aspiration for flying. The wind current in the tunnel is very strong, so you can simply lie on the air mattress and fly!
  • orientation in nature on foot. Try to find your way through nature (woods and paths) from A to B point. Searching for hidden treasure from control point to control point until you collect all of them and reach finish line.
  • biking to Kranjska Gora.

Bled

With immense natural beauty, Bled, together with its surroundings, ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts, renowned for its mild, healing climate and thermal lake water. Bled attracts businessmen, artists, athletes, explorers, sport enthusiasts, the old and the young, from all over the world, enchanting them to return to Bled again and again.

  • renting bikes and visit Vintgar Gorge which was open for public in 1893. Constructing a secured tourist trail through the wild gorge was a demanding and an extremly dangerous task. The roar of the fettered Radovna river echoes along the 1.600 m long gorge, full of small waterfalls, rapids and erosion potholes where the river briefly slows down its pace. Trails, narrow passages and bridges lead a visitor to the end of the gorge, witch is marked by the magnificiant, 16 m high waterfall Šum, the highest fluvial waterfall in Slovenia.
  • visitng Blejski Grad (Bled Castle), Climb up to the Castle and enjoy the finest view of the lake with its island. Combine that with popular one and only Bleds cream cake.
  • visiting Bled island in the middle of a lake with the traditional Pletna boat and enjoy  the atmosphere.

Overnight in Bled

DAY 3

In the morning we will visit capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana.

Ljubljana is the political and cultural heart of the Slovenian nation. It has rich and colourful history, large pedestrian-only area, picturesque old city centre, abundant green areas and castle, Slovenia's prime turist attraction. Categorised as a medium-sized European city, it offers everything a metropolis does yet preserves its small-town friendliness.

  • Ljubljana guided tour. We will visit many famous turist attractions (Ljubljanas castle, Three bridges, old town…), some free time at the end.

In the afternoon we will continue towards Koroška and geopark Karavanke where we will visit some geointeresting points like juncture of adriatic and euroasian lithospheric plate near Črna na Koroškem.

Overnight in Črna na Koroškem

DAY 4

Discovering the underworld

Explore mines with mountain bike.

Mountain bikes were made for exploring the mountains, but here you can ride your bike through the mountain. We discovered a path through the abandoned and mysterious mining tunnels under Mount Peca. Led by a guide and equipped with helmets and flashlights you can safely ride from one valley to another on a more than 5 kilometers long underground path. Prepare to experience an unforgettable adventure.

Mine tour by kayak

Visitors board a genuine mining train which takes from the museum through the 3.5 km long Gačnik tunnel and up to Unionski vpadnik slope mine. From here you descend for 95 m and go down the stairs that lead to water. At this point, all visitors receive the necessary protective equipment (neoprene boots, life jackets and mining helmets with a flashlight). Then you enter a flooded shaft where special kayaks for three persons are already waiting for you. Your guide leads you along a small underground river until you reach the magical underground lakes almost 700 m below the surface. Visitors can now enjoy the peaceful and pristine water and explore the underground labyrinth, submerged tunnels and excavation sites. To end your journey, you will follow a narrow passage, paddle through some minor rapids and arrive back at the starting point.

In the afternoon we will move towards Logarska Valley

DAY 5

Logarska Valley is one of the most beautiful Alpine glacial valleys in Europe. It extends into the Kamnik-Savinja Alps from the north. A part of the Solčavsko region, tradition and nature have found harmony here, serving as a good example of sustainable development. As an added value to agriculture and forestry, tourism offers an opportunity for relaxation in the peaceful ambience of the landscape park as well as hiking, cycling, horseback riding, photo hunting, etc. The park has received a Future in the Alps Award from CIPRA for the successful management of a protected area. …

On the last day, we will adapt our activities to your time of departure from Ljubljana airport. If your plane leaves late in the afternoon, we will explore the valley on bicycles. At the end of the valley, there is a beautiful waterfall Rinka waiting for us, with a real slovenian Eagle's nest bar nearby.
